In-house Training
Combined training course:
H₂ Level 2E & HV Level 2E
Duration:
7 days / 70 teaching units
Format:
In-person
Participants:
Max. 8
Completion:
Written & practical examination / certificate
This combined training combines the content of DGUV Information Sheet FBHM-099 Level 2E and DGUV Information 209-093 Level 2E Entry B and is aimed at specialists who work on both high-voltage systems and gas systems, for example in development, production or maintenance.
The focus is on the specific occupational safety regulations, standards and procedures for working on electrical systems, high-voltage components and gas-powered vehicles. This training course provides all the relevant basics and qualifications to master both technologies safely and professionally.
Since many contents of both sets of rules overlap or are linked, the training offers a structured and shortened overall duration compared to two separate courses – without any technical compromises.
A basic electrical qualification, as defined in DGUV Information 209-093 Entry B, is required to participate. If this qualification is not yet available, a preliminary basic training course can be added individually.
Technology-spanning topics:
- Legal basis of occupational safety
- Organisation of safety and health
- Specialist and management responsibility for defined activities
- Qualification of employees
Hazards and protective measures:
- Hazards from electrical current
- Protective measures against electrical hazards
- Hazards associated with Working on Gas Systems and protective measures
- Safety-related properties of gases
- Fundamentals of explosion protection
- Gas markings
- Hazard Assessment, work instruction, instruction
Gas-powered vehicles:
- Joining techniques, their requirements and safe assembly
- Operating principle of a gas system
- Testing and maintenance work on gas systems
- Using gas measuring devices
- Visual, leak and function test
- Emptying, inerting and filling of gas systems
High-voltage systems:
- Use of HV systems in vehicles
- Measurements on HV systems
- Performing tests on high-voltage systems
Personnel who are to perform measurements and tests on systems and components with fuel cells in the field of gas-powered
vehicles, as well as high-voltage systems or components.
See learning objectives of the training courses:
- ‘Qualified Person for HV-Systems – FHV’
- ‘Working on Gas Systems’
- Basic electrical engineering knowledge in the vehicle sector, e.g. trained in automotive electrics, automotive mechatronics, automotive mechanics, agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics
- Optional entry test to check electrical entry requirements
- DGUV FBHM-099 Level E and 1E

FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
For which activities does the combined H₂ & HV Level 2E training qualify?
This training qualifies for the execution of defined activities on gas systems and high-voltage systems – e.g. maintenance, testing or work on components in Hydrogen-powered vehicles with HV technology.
What are the advantages of the combined training compared to two individual training courses?
Since many topics, such as Hazard Assessments, occupational safety and technical principles, are cross-technology, they can be taught in a bundled manner. This reduces the training effort and links the content in a practical way.
For which target group is the combined training particularly suitable?
The training is aimed primarily at technical specialists in development, testing environments or production who work on fuel cell vehicles with high-voltage systems – especially in the area of gas systems, HV components and vehicle testing.
What are the requirements for participating in the combined training?
Participants require prior electrical knowledge in the vehicle sector (e.g. from automotive mechatronics or agricultural machinery technology) as well as qualifications in accordance with DGUV FBHM-099 Level E and 1E. An initial test can optionally be carried out to check this.
Can company test scenarios or special vehicle types be integrated into the combined training?
Yes, the content of the training can be adapted to specific requirements, vehicles or safety procedures. Further information is available on the Training Development page.
