The "Working on Gas-Powered Vehicles – Level 1E" training course is aimed at individuals who, in a professional context, carry out work on Hydrogen-powered vehicles or other Gas-Powered Vehicles. Due to potential errors, defects or improper handling, these vehicles have an increased hazard potential.
The training provides the necessary basics to carry out permitted activities in accordance with qualification level 1E safely and in compliance with standards. The focus is on the recognition of typical hazards, the application of suitable protective measures and a sound understanding of gas systems, their labeling and safety-relevant components.
Another component is the delimitation of permitted activities for persons with this qualification. Optionally, customer-specific requirements and internal organizational processes can also be taken into account, for example when dealing with test vehicles and pre-series vehicles.
Note: For vehicles that also have a high-voltage system, additional qualifications in accordance with DGUV Information 209-093 are required.
- Qualification levels required for working on gas systems
- Labeling of gas-powered vehicles, especially hydrogen-powered vehicles
- unauthorized work on the gas system
- Basic function of the system components and safety devices of gas systems
- Causes of accidents and consequences of breaches of duty
- Protective measures in the immediate vicinity of gas systems
- Persons to contact in case of uncertainties

FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions
What activities am I allowed to carry out on hydrogen-powered vehicles after the level 1E training?
Upon completion of the training course, you are authorised to perform tasks related to gas propulsion systems, such as on vehicle components, but not on the gas system itself. The training course raises awareness of potential hazards and places particular emphasis on demarcation and protective measures.
Why is additional training after level E a prerequisite for participation in level 1E?
The Level 1E training course builds upon the fundamental knowledge of DGUV FBHM-099 Level E. Only those who already possess knowledge of the safe refuelling, operation, and identification of gas vehicles can perform advanced tasks in the surrounding environment.
Is the "Working on Gas-Powered Vehicles" training course also suitable for workshops?
Yes, this training course is ideal for workshop personnel, test bench staff and technical specialists who work with Hydrogen-powered vehicles, but do not perform direct interventions on the gas system.
Can customer-specific systems or vehicles also be integrated into the training?
Yes, upon request, we can incorporate your own vehicles, safety instructions or specific operating instructions. You can find all the information on customisation on our Training Development page.
What specific protective measures will I learn about in Level 1E training?
The training covers measures to take in the event of gas leaks, behaviour in hazardous situations, safe identification, and protective measures in the immediate vicinity of Hydrogen-carrying systems.
