The Responsible Certified Electrician (VEFK) – in the Industrial Sector

Companies that operate electrical systems must not only ensure a safe technical condition, but also establish a functioning organisational structure that meets the statutory requirements. A central role is played by the Responsible Certified Electrician (VEFK), who, on behalf of the company, bears the electrotechnical technical responsibility, including the planning, monitoring, control and delegation of tasks.

The VEFK according to DIN VDE 1000-10 assumes, among other things, entrepreneurial duties in the area of electrical safety and acts as a central interface between operational processes, legal requirements and technical practice. In addition to sound electrical engineering expertise, a prerequisite for this role is extensive knowledge of the legal, organisational and safety-related requirements for the operation of electrical systems.

This training course provides the necessary knowledge to be able to perform the function of the Responsible Certified Electrician in a legally compliant, technically sound and organisationally effective manner. This creates more safety, clarity and legal certainty in electrical operations.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

In industrial companies, the VEFK assumes responsibility for the safety of electrical systems and equipment. They ensure that production facilities are operated in accordance with regulations and are inspected regularly – especially in complex, automated or multi-layered industrial environments.

The VEFK organises the electrotechnical operational structure, coordinates maintenance and inspections, delegates tasks to certified electricians and prepares work instructions. They are the central point of contact for audits, certifications and safety-related issues.

The training is aimed at people who have already been appointed as VEFK or are to be appointed to this role – usually experienced certified electricians with additional responsibility for safety and organisation.

The training provides all the relevant normative requirements to ensure legally compliant organisation, delegation and supervision in electrotechnical areas and to minimise liability risks.

Participants learn how to ensure the proper condition of electrical systems, delegate tasks, instruct employees and document compliance with legal requirements.
